i photographed emma and her best friend charlie along with her dog, happy, last year for their senior photos. one year later she’s completed her first year of college, she’s studying abroad, got a super cute tattoo, and added another four legged friend to the family. the highest compliment someone can give is to refer you to their friends & family, or better yet, come back for another shoot. so happy to have seen emma again, and this time meet the rest of her awesome family!
the reason for this shoot was to document this cute little girl turning 2. she’s adorable, full of energy, and she loved the water. toward the end of the session, we were shooting near the water, and before we knew it, we were in the water. and those are some of my favorite images from this session. although parents usually book sessions for photos of their littles, i always ask to take a few photos of the lovely couple themselves. so glad i did.
GAH! GORGEOUS light creeping through in the left corner of the last one! You know how to work the light, girlfriend! These are so soft and pretty!
when summer and i first chatted on the phone, she told me her color palette consisted of pretty pinks, white and gold. and my heart skipped a beat. from the beautiful flowers & event styling by the amazing shilhi at passion roots to the awesome tunes by wedding DJ troy michael to shooting with my good friend, ashley goodwin…summer & chad’s wedding was elegant, pretty, and all kinds of fun.
summer & chad, wishing you so much happiness and love. …i’m so happy you found me from our friends :)

AdminThanks so much, loves!
Ashley GoodwinI am so thankful I got to tag along! One of the funnest weddings I have been to in a LONG time! xo
LeaMiss Malia, I love the color of your images. They are so beautiful.
Big loves to you xxx
there’s one thing that’s very clear – i KNOW what i like. take this screenshot for instance. can you tell that i love all things kraft??? as i peruse my pinboards on pinterest, ideas swirl around in this brain of mine…pretty packaging…soft color palettes…classic and vintage goodies…the color white. i’m working on a few projects around the house that includes redecorating and repurposing. i also have a few projects that i’d love to get to…soon. these include making postcards of my travels and including them in my packaging. think it would be a fun & nice touch. any how, i really just wanted to stop in, say hello, and let you know that i love kraft :) happy weekend!
I absolutely love browsing through your pintrest. Vintage and DIY projects are starting to be my ultimate eye catchers. Oh and your photography is phenomenal! Keep up the great work.
i love when couples choose to do an engagement session. it gives us a chance to chat & get to know each other better. here are a few fun things i learned while these two shared some bubbly, and while taking a stroll through their neighborhood. which by the way, has a beautiful cityscape view.
fourth of july is a pretty memorable day in their story . kristen’s beautiful dress is from kleinfeld where her grandmother worked years ago . kristen will be “walking the plank” on their wedding day ;) . they both love their dog, barkely (a lot).
kristen & john, can’t believe it’s in less than a month! can’t wait to see you on your big day!
Just beautiful. My favourite is the image with the fance shadows streaming across the road. Lovely celebration of this couple!
Ashley GoodwinI will have you know I literally just said “MALIA!” when I saw these, especially the cityscape one and the fence with the shadows! GOOORRRRRRRG.
it simply amazes me how he does it. he knows what i like better than i do. my husband, that is. whenever we travel, he’s usually the one in charge of booking our accommodations. it’s because he’s so good at finding the best hotels that i end up love, love, LOVING. remember our crazy amazing vacation to zihuatanejo? this hotel, if you will, was no exception. he booked our stay at the beautiful, uh-mazing Carneros Inn, and i was over the moon. it’s not even like a real hotel. you pull up to the gates, give them your name, they kindly tell you that they’ve been expecting you, and then they buzz you in, and the gates open wide to this vast beautiful piece of land. it’s not a typical hotel…it’s actually little neighborhoods, and you have your own little cottage, complete with a backyard, fire pit, outdoor shower and soaking tub. LOVE it.
we spent our days enjoying every moment at this amazing place…walking through apple orchards…swimming at otto’s pool which we had to ourselves nearly every day…eating the best donuts at our favorite restaurant, boon fly cafe…riding our bikes along old sonoma road, and visiting a few wineries. at first it seemed a little silly to be going to wine country when we both don’t drink, but i think it’s safe to say, we once again had the time of our lives. we ended the trip with a few days in the city, stopping at miur beach along the way, and then made our way home.
to the lovely carneros inn, we will definitely be back to enjoy all your goodness, and of course, spend a few more evenings in the hilltop jacuzzi overlooking the vineyards, at dusk, when it’s freezing cold outside (my absolute favorite).
if you’d like to check out our other adventures, here’s zihua, new york & pittsburgh, and a quick post on tahoe! i just realized that i don’t have a post of paris & morocco! adding it to my to do list pronto :) xo!
what an adorable place & vacation! love love love!
Mis*how cute! if j & i ever get the opportunity to take this kind of vacation, i’ll be asking you all about it. i just love it!
MomNice Inn, we loved wine country too, looks like we need to do it again soon , your pictures make it look inviting?..love you

How are you doing? I hope all is well for both you and your husband.
TrinaHowdy, I do think your blog could possibly be having browser compatibility issues. Whenever I take a look at your web site in Safari, it looks fine however, when opening in IE, it’s got some overlapping issues. I simply wanted to provide you with a quick heads up! Other than that, fantastic site!
ミュウミュウ新作There’s certainly a great deal to know about this topic. I love all of the points you made.
